This weekend, Jerry Kelly Heating, Air Conditioning, Electrical and Plumbing was honored to sponsor St. Jude’s “Give Thanks. Walk.” event at St. Louis Mills Mall in Hazelwood. This is the second year we’ve sponsored this event, and we’re so happy to take part in such a great cause.
Last year, over 60 communities and 22,000 people around the country participated in the 5K walk. This year, it took place in 80 communities with over 33,000 participants!
The event, which actually originated in St. Louis, is a fundraiser to help fight childhood cancer. As a Gold Sponsor, Jerry Kelly Heating, Air Conditioning, Electrical and Plumbing was happy to donate $5,000 to the cause as well as 650 track bags stuffed with all kinds of goodies for our fellow walkers.
The turnout of this year’s event was fantastic. Five hundred walkers showed up in support of the cause and $42,000 was raised in St. Louis alone! Add that to all of the other generous donations from around the country and “Give Thanks. Walk.” raised $3.1 million nationwide!
“Give Thanks. Walk.” is the annual kickoff to St. Jude’s Thanks and Giving fundraising campaign. Throughout the holiday season, celebrities and corporate sponsors unite in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and its fight against childhood cancer.
