Update - I was called the day after and offered a full refund for the repair costs. The technician, Travis, was courteous and efficient when performing the necessary repairs.Original review - After my experience today, it sure seems like Jerry Kelly isn’t willing to stand behind their products. Our AC stopped blowing cold air so we called Jerry Kelly, the original company who installed the unit. The unit was installed by the previous homeowner in 2012 with a 12 year warranty (clearly and proudly advertised by Jerry Kelly with a sticker on the front of the unit). We purchased the home in 2017. When the AC stopped working, we assumed that we’d be covered since the 12 year warranty wouldn’t end until 2024. Right? Wrong. Unfortunately, I was informed that because I didn’t call when the home was purchased and pay a fee to transfer the warranty, Jerry Kelly simply could not honor their warranty. Maybe I’m missing something, but it sure seems like an easy way for Jerry Kelly to avoid having to fix their failing product within their own stated warranty period. Maybe I expect too much, but doesn’t it seem reasonable to assume that a warranty for an AC unit would stay with the unit for the covered period? The AC that Jerry Kelly was so proud to install and guarantee for 12 years suddenly isn’t able to be guaranteed because a new person lives in the home? Clearly this is an easy way for Jerry Kelly to avoid keeping their promises. There is no other rational explanation. Bad form.
My technician, Jerry Ayyad, arrived on time and made sure I was still okay with that time before he arrived. He was polite, personable and well versed in the technology. I enjoyed having him in my home. They are pricey though.
